5 Fun Oklahoma Destinations for Kids and Families

Looking for something fun to do with the kids this summer? There are lots of great destinations here in Oklahoma for families. We picked our top five for you, and included where to camp and nearby attractions. Check it out!

1. Alabaster Caverns - Freedom, Oklahoma


Bring the kids to Alabaster Caverns for a fun day they won't forget. Take a guided tour the cave (fee), the largest natural public gypsum touring cave in the world. Tours of Alabaster Cavern are available daily and leave promptly on the hour from 9am-4pm. There are also "wild" caves to explore for more adventurous families. Or if caving isn't your thing, stay on the surface and enjoy the beautiful scenery and unique wildlife.

Nearby Attractions: Dig for crystals at Great Salt Plains Selenite Digging Area (63 miles) • View the sand dunes at Little Sahara State Park (35 miles), • Visit Fort Supply Historic Site, established in 1868 in Indian Territory (43 miles)

2. Leonardo's Children's Museum - Enid, Oklahoma


There are more than ONE HUNDRED hands-on activities for children and families to enjoy inside Leonardo’s Children’s Museum! Meet some friends at the Critter Clubhouse, home to lizards, snakes, chinchillas, ferrets and more. Create art with a giant Lite-Brite, visit the medical clinic for a life-size game of Operation, or learn about oil, natural gas, wind and solar power at the Power Tower.

Camp at: There are campgrounds in and around Enid, or if you want to travel a little further you can stay at Canton Lake, which is about 60 miles.

Nearby Attractions: Take a hike and enjoy the unique landscape of Gloss Mountain State Park (40 miles)

3. Braum's Factory Tour - Tuttle, Oklahoma


Enjoy the enticing scents on a tour of the bakery or learn how Braum's ice cream is made, and get a free sample! This is a factory tour that the whole family will enjoy. Reservations are required.

Camp at: Lake Thunderbird (45 miles) • Fort Cobb lake (45 miles)

Nearby Attractions: Visit OKC and see the zoo, the stunning OKC National Memorial & Museum, and much more in Oklahoma's Capital City • Visit charming Medicine Park (66 miles), and be sure to see the Medicine Park Aquarium and Natural Sciences Center and visit the top of Mount Scott!

4. Riversport Adventures - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma


An Oklahoma gem, Riversport Adventures has something to offer for everyone in the family, no matter your skill level. Learn to kayak, paddle board, whitewater raft and more. If water sports aren't your thing, you can try the Sky Trail, the tallest adventure course of its kind in the world (wow!), the sky zip, or the tallest dry slide complex in America where you can hit speeds of 22MPH!

5. Yogi Bear's Jellystone Camp Resorts - Eufaula and Mannford, Oklahoma


Floating obstacle courses, beaches, fishing, pedal boats, playgrounds and pools are just some of the attractions available at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park. Built for families, these parks offer nonstop entertainment for your kids. With a location on Keystone Lake and another on Eufaula, Jellystone Park is easy to get to from Tulsa.

Camp at: Jellystone Park! Although day passes are available, staying at the park is certainly the easiest way to have access to all the awesome activities.

Nearby Attractions: Whether you stay at Keystone Lake or Eufaula, there are State Parks nearby for hiking and enjoying the wildlife.
